In the Beginning
Stories are absolutely crucial to maintaining a high quality of life. We are our own story, and we choose what happens in that story. We also choose how to tell it - social media, family gatherings, voice memos on our iPhones, blogs, journals, etc. - or not tell it. Whether or not we choose to share, we are still writing our own stories.
I have always cherished the art of storytelling. It only takes me seeing a film 2 times all the way through to have it completely memorized from start to finish - a photographic memory skill that helps in no way whatsoever in the world of academia, but I still hold it at high value - and those films stay with me and influence my own story frequently! I love telling my story through film, and I hope to continue doing so for the rest of my life.
This was my first camera - Mnemosyne. She is named after the Greek goddess of memory (mother to the muses who are the goddesses of creativity). I have used her for many a project, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to conserve memories and be creative through her.
I am overjoyed to be a part of this class. Looking ahead at the projects in store for this semester excites me, and I can't wait to stretch myself and step out of my comfort zone to expose my projects and move towards progress and success in this industry!
